13 year old boy who survived rare childhood cancer TWICE supports new fundraising campaign

13 year old Ryan Savage is featuring in a new Christmas campaign to raise vital funds for neuroblastoma research.

Ryan was first diagnosed with neuroblastoma when he was just three years old. He was given a 5% chance of survival and doctors told his parents that he may not live to see Christmas.

This Christmas campaign aims to #GiveHope to families like Ryan’s by raising money for fund leading research which aim to deliver new, more effective and kinder treatments for children with neuroblastoma.

On 22 September 2019, as part of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, Tracey Espin from Durham, gathered her friends and family together for a fundraising walk in memory of Siobhan Mather. Siobhan was diagnosed with Stage 4 neuroblastoma in July 2017, when she was just two years old.

On Wednesday 11 September 2019, Neuroblastoma UK patron and comedian Alan Carr took to the trading floor at the 15th annual BGC Charity Day, to help raise vital funds for neuroblastoma research. Alan was joined by the two wonderful families of Evie and Florence, who were both diagnosed with neuroblastoma in 2015.

Trustees are walking over cancer this Childhood Cancer Awareness Month

Neuroblastoma UK’s Chair of Trustees, Tony Heddon and the Charity’s Secretary, Shirley Clark took part in the Thames Bridges Trek on Saturday 7th September, raising over £1,600 for neuroblastoma research.

Shirley, along with Tony and his family, were “#GoingGold for Joanna”, walking in memory of Shirley’s daughter who sadly passed away in 1995, aged eight, after being diagnosed with neuroblastoma.

Running for fun this Childhood Cancer Awareness Month

Lauren was diagnosed with stage four neuroblastoma when she was 16 months old and was given a 10% chance of survival. Now aged 37, Lauren took part in the Big Fun Run in Milton Keynes in aid of Neuroblastoma UK, on Saturday 1st September to raise awareness of this rare childhood cancer during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
