"Here comes the sun' - a song for Harry

Milton Keynes based band, Lilac Fall, has released a cover of The Beatles ‘Here comes the sun’, inspired by 10 year old Harry, who has relapsed neuroblastoma.

About Harry

In 2014, Harry was diagnosed with stage 4 neuroblastoma. He had been in remission for two and half years but, in November 2018, the family were given the news that Harry had a neuroblastoma relapse to the Central Nervous System. Harry had to have an emergency operation to remove the tumour from his brain and has recently started treatment in Barcelona.

About Lilac Fall

Lilac Fall are a music duo formed by twin brothers Kim Allen (drums/vocals) and Alfie Allen (guitar/vocals) in Milton Keynes. Coming from a musical family, dating back to their Granddad, Jerry Allen, a television entertainer/organist throughout the 50s and 60s, the boys continue to follow in their family roots.

We first heard about Harry at the start of 2019. We really wanted to help...our Dad just said “Do what you know best - your music. So why not record a song?

Kim and Alfie said, “We first heard about Harry at the start of 2019. We read about him needing to raise sufficient funds to travel to New York for specialist treatment. We really wanted to help and many in the community were getting behind him with various fundraising ventures.

“Our Dad just said "Well, do what you know best - your music. So why not record a song". We persevered for four months before getting the go ahead during which time, Harry's parents had heard about what we wanted to do. It transpired that Harry lives very close to us and he and his father came to see us.

“Whilst we were waiting for permission to record the song, we heard of other children with Neuroblastoma. There was another Harry, in Norwich who the fire brigade was getting behind and a little girl named Lulu in Bedford. Then we heard of two other cases.

“When discussing it with people, it became apparent that not many actually knew what Neuroblastoma was or how it affects children and their families. It is our hope that through sharing our song and supporting Neuroblastoma UK, we will be able to raise awareness of this awful disease.”
