Staff at Banks Group have chosen Neuroblastoma UK as their corporate charity for 2022. Established in 1976, The Banks Group is a family business, based in County Durham with a range of successful developments across the North of England and Scotland. The Banks Group develops and operates in a variety of business areas including property development, renewable and flexible energy generation and storage, mineral extraction and infrastructure services.
About the partnership
It's brilliant Banks is supporting Neuroblastoma UK this year. They were a wonderful support for my best friend.
Staff member, Gemma (pictured above, back row, far left), nominated Neuroblastoma UK to be the business’s charity partner after her best friend’s three-year-old daughter was diagnosed with neuroblastoma and sadly died. Following a vote, the charity was a clear winner, and the partnership was announced at Christmas.
Staff will be undertaking various fundraising activities throughout the year, so that they can help to fund research that will enable scientists to better understand neuroblastoma and treat the disease.
Gemma said, “It's brilliant Banks is supporting Neuroblastoma UK this year. They were a wonderful support for my best friend. The survival rates for children diagnosed with neuroblastoma are very low and it largely affects children under the age of five. Current treatment options are pretty brutal for the children so any improvement here would be of huge benefit.”
